Assistive Journal for Rehabilitation Professionals Telecommuting Visions Institute and its Telecommuting Program welcome professional feedback. In this regard, we are encouraging scientists, engineers, science-minded animators, communication specialists and clinicians to regularly exchange ideas and collaborate in experimental design of MMI (man-machine interfaces) that help overcome physical and other challenges through our active support of the Assistive Journal. It is presently imperative to promote and maintain cross-disciplinary dialogs between rehabilitation personnel and the technology sector to foster new flexibility in approaches to problem solving. In response to these needs, the Assistive Journal(Assistive.Org) invites submissions that will educate and stimulate debate in all the multifaceted areas of experimental MMI, assistive interfaces and rehabilitation. Recently, many intensively interdisciplinary technologies have arisen that together impact a myriad of challenged individuals and conditions treated by clinicians. Biomedical Engineering seeks to apply engineering principles and techniques to help understand life phenomena. Rehabilitation Engineering, through application of existing and emerging technologies, aims to improve quality of life for many, including enhancing independence and productivity of individuals with challenges. In the product arena, the Journal provides a forum for presentation of both experimental and available assistive devices and software. Musculoskeletal researchers, prosthetic designers, medical product developers, technicians and multidisciplinary project managers in the commercial sector can now more easily join forces, drawing upon a pool of professional expertise and centralized forum discussion in a multidisciplinary environment. In the service arena, the Journal provides information on user-focused services in areas of: assistive and rehabilitation technology, vocational training, compensatory therapy, cognitive therapy, specialized care that facilitates self-directed living and geocentric diversity programs that promote full community participation for challenged individuals. Through the Assistive Journal, experts and technical writers may present and explain products and services to the disabled and rehabilitation communities, helping unite many interdisciplinary research projects in biomedical and rehabilitation engineering and other disciplines. We look forward to receiving your feedback, personal experiences and articles. |
